“Ready to Connect” The proclamation makes me smile.

I've spent much of my life as an Exclamation Point! However, recently, I've seen myself sliding into my Comma era.

I learned today that in 1917 the novelist E.M. Forster was in Egypt for the first time. As a conscientious objector in World War I, Forster served as a Chief Searcher (for missing servicemen) for the British Red Cross in Alexandria, Egypt.

I recently brought together seventy family members and close friends for a Celebration of Life to remember my mom. We honored her with a decadent buffet, fun activities, a musical performance by Ron Bohmer and Sandra Joseph (dear friends and former stars of Phantom of the Opera), and many heart opening and funny tributes.

My co-founder Christine Sperber is effortlessly cool. Commonly branded a “lovely badass” during our end-of-the-week workshop appreciation ceremonies, Christine has the street cred of being a former professional snowboarder turned Baja hospitality guru. She’s MEA’s Chief Experience Officer. Yes, there was a reason I hired her to throw my week-long 55th birthday party in El Pescadero in 2015.

One of our co-founders, Skylar, recently made an insightful comment during one of our team meetings. He said something to the effect of, “I am no longer hopeful that the world is going to turn around anytime soon.”

Most days, I feel like Nadia Comaneci exhibiting visual poetry with my command of the balance beam of life. But on a few rare days, I feel like I can barely walk to the bathroom when I wake up in the morning. Forget about the balance beam or the high wire act. A tricycle feels more my speed. Yesterday was one of those days.
