It’s difficult to know when a "messy middle" begins and ends – and hard to know exactly what to do, how to do it, and how to move toward a new beginning. It is not only intellectually and physically challenging, but emotionally draining because of all that uncertainty.
Until Covid-19 came along, MEA was figuratively a one flavor ice cream shop. You might say we offered the best chocolate ice cream in the world—our popular one-week themed workshop in Baja. And then along came Covid, and like the rest of the world, we were forced to do the pandemic pivot.
We live in a world that is increasingly consumed by fear. There are many reasons for this, as I discuss in my new book, "The Journey Beyond Fear."

As we age, we begin imagining what we will leave behind. When it comes to families, it may be our kids, extended family, or the way we’ve created memories for loved ones. Regardless if it is the summer or winter, I love watching the Olympics--particularly figure skaters and gymnasts. But what I really like to learn are the stories behind the athletes, their families, challenges, and the hard work involved in getting to that elite level.
Wow, I’ve been looking for this particular report to help make sense of the angst of so many white-collar workers 45 years old and older. Highly recommend you go to this website and download the report.
I will never forget the birthday when my ex staged a surprise party at a circus school. Suddenly, I was thirty feet in the air with my friends cheering me on as my impatient teacher was nudging me off the platform for my very first flying trapeze solo. Talk about your liminal moment.
